Transforming Hair Cleanser No. 724 Review

From the Lab is an innovative monthly subscription service designed to give every woman access to the best beauty products up to 18 months before they hit the shelves! From the Lab works with the best cosmetic labs in the world to create the most advanced and high-end skin care, hair care and color cosmetic products. Members receive full-sized samples of one, two or three products the first week of every month and can continue buying the products they love through the online store.

Recently I was given the opportunity to review one of these products.

Transforming Hair Cleanser N. 724 is free of harsh chemicals that strip your hair of nutrients causing more damage then good. This gentle formula is designed to clean and condition the entire hair follicle and scalp without drying or leaving behind a greasy residue.

I have mentioned before that I am pretty picky when it comes to hair products because I have issues with my hair being too thin, too flat and having the tendency to get oily super fast. I am always looking for products that work for my hair concerns. I was eager to try this hair cleanser and see what all the fuss is about. When I first poured some in my hands I was a little concerned it felt thick and kinda sticky, I thought for sure my hair was going to be a greasy mess after washing. I started to rub into my hair which was a little tough to do at first but as the cleanser mixed with the water on my head it began to soften up and take on a new feel. I could actually feel it moisturizing my hair. This cleanser does not contain sulfates so it won't be soapy like your typical store bought shampoos but it still lathers up really nice without all the suds. I decided not to use conditioner on my hair the first time I used this cleanser to see exactly how it left my hair after use. I have to say I was impressed. My hair was soft, manageable and not the least bit greasy. Your hair will feel super clean. I used this hair cleanser every shower and grew to love it. I also noticed after just a week of using it my hair was less oily in general. I was pretty bummed when I ran out the stuff but I am getting ready to purchase another bottle soon. This hair cleanser is also great for washing your kids hair as it won't irritate their skin or eyes and as an added bonus it doubles as a body wash!

Join From the Lab now to try this and other beauty products.

Hillarious Tear Out Cards for Every Situation Review and Giveaway

                                                                                                                          Closed
Winner #8

From one of the US's leading indie publishers, Ulysses Press come these sets of tear out cards to help you say exactly what you are thinking without actually "saying it".  These four mini booklets contain some funny, some awkward, and some "what the heck?!" cards that are perfect for many situations.

Sorry I Had Sex on Your Bed: And Other Tear-Out Apologies for Your Awkward Screwups
A hilarious collection of snarky mea culpa cards to be torn out and given to wronged friends, coworkers, and family members. Includes “I’m sorry I tagged that picture of you on Facebook” and “I’m sorry I tried to spice things up without asking first.”

Seriously?! Delightfully Passive Aggressive Cards

A riotous collection of cards designed to be left for roommates, frenemies, coworkers, strangers, and neighbors who’ve Gone. Too. Far. Examples: “Maybe tomorrow I could pet your elephants? --your downstairs neighbor” and “Touch my lunch again and I’ll cut you.”
You’re Cute: Cards to Break the Ice
A witty collection of cards to capture the attention of someone new. Favorites include “This is me flirting with you...” and “It was either this or a Missed Connection.”
Parking Tickets: For Those Who’ve Crossed the Live
A humorous collection of snarky cards for drivers of badly parked cars. Try “I used to park like this. Then I turned 6.” or “Hope you’re better between the sheets than you are between the lines.”

I received all four sets of tear our cards for review and while their are many here that I would never use and some that I even found a little crass I realize that not everyone has my sense of humor. In fact my husband thought these cards were pretty hilarious and even took them to work with him to leave anonymously around the camp. He works in the oil fields of Alaska, the majority of the workers there are men and he thought these would get some big laughs from the guys. He was right.

My favorite set of tear out cards were Parking Tickets. You know when you are looking for a parking space and there is that one person that decides his truck needs two parking spaces when he it fits perfectly well in one space. Or that person that hasn't quite managed to learn how to park straight and instead parks at an angle making the parking space next to them completely useless. I don't know how many times I have wanted to leave a note questioning their driving abilities. These cards make it easy to do that in a humorous, caught off guard way. I also thought the You're Cute cards were pretty funny and I could totally see some being passed out a college party or something. You can purchase these online via Amazon. Also be sure to follow Ulysses Press on Facebook and Twitter to find out more about their products.

Vaseline Intensive Care Review and Giveaway

Closed
Winner #2

Did you know that over 140 years later Vaseline is still adding products to their line to protect and nourish your skin? The newest line of lotions is Vaseline Intensive Care. These lotions go beyond regular lotions to deeply moisturize and heal dry skin.

Each of the powerful formulas have been designed to combat dry skin with a special blend of humectants (to draw water into the skin), and healing micro-droplets of Vaseline® Jelly (to lock moisture in). These micro-droplets are highly refined and 100% pure. Together, the humectants and Vaseline Jelly micro-droplets in the lotions work to deliver on a range of moisturization needs.

They come in several varieties including:

Vaseline Intensive Care Essential Healing Lotion
Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair Fragrance Free
Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair Lightly Scented
Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Lotion
Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Lotion

I was scent the Advanced Repair Fragrance Free and the Aloe Soothe for review. I was especially excited about the Fragrance Free lotion for my husband. He works in Alaska and his skin tends to dry out a lot, unfortunately he also has very sensitive skin and can not use products with artificial fragrances. This product has worked wonders for him. It keeps his skin moisturized and he has not had any of the skin allergy reactions he has had in the past with other lotions. He commented that it works almost immediately at ridding his skin of the dryness and itchiness. I decided to give the Aloe Soothe a try. It is refreshing and absorbs quickly. I can't stand when my skin feels greasy after applying a lotion. It is also great at soothing sunburns! My daughter had a water fun day her last day of school, and although I applied sunscreen to her body before she left for school the sun has been pretty hot here. She ended up with slightly red sunburned shoulders and was complaining about the pain. Aloe Soothe helped her get some relief. This is a nice lotion for summer skin but would be even better if they added some SPF to it.

These products and more can be purchased at food, drug and mass retailers nationwide.

The people at Vaseline are also allowing me to host a giveaway. One Girly Girl reader will win a Cocoa Radiant, Aloe Soothe, and Essential healing Intensive Care lotion.

Father's Day Gift Idea from FragranceNet

Father's Day is quickly approaching, are you still looking for a gift to show your father or husband  that they are appreciated? This year my husband asked for a specific cologne for Father's Day. FragranceNet carries that cologne as well as many others. Does the father in your life have a tried and true favorite? Or maybe you would like to introduce them to a new scent that they might love even more. Here are a few standouts that you might want to consider.

Tom Ford Noir ($134.19 at FragranceNet.com) - Now Dad can smell as good as he looks. Tom Ford is an obvious choice for the dad who stays sharply dressed and wants his signature scent to match. He'll appreciate how Tom Ford's blend of bergamot, violet flower, leather, and black pepper accents his suit and tie.

Kenzo Woody Cologne ($44.19 at FragranceNet.com) - Harnessing the power of nature, this aromatic fragrance is the ideal choice for the Dad who has a little bit of the woods in him. Although this is a predominantly woody scent, it is lifted by fresh notes of basil and mint, with black pepper and rosemary ensuring that Dad's life has a touch of spice.

Polo Ralph Lauren Blue Sport ($74.19 at FragranceNet.com) - If your Dad is a fan of the polo, or just loves the whole preppy scene, then look no further than this spectacular offering from the King of Prep - Ralph Lauren. Expect him to smell like green apples, mint, mandarin, sage and ginger; a fruity cocktail of scents you'd expect at a day on the green.

F By Ferragamo pour Homme Black ($40.19 at FragranceNet.com) - F by Ferragamo pour Homme Black is described as the perfect scent for a metropolitan man. This scent features an alluring rich lavender that will keep your dad calm even on the most hectic of days. Its black Madagascar pepper and laudanum convey the heart of sophistication and masculinity.

Armani Code Sport Cologne ($41.19 at FragranceNet.com) - Inspired by the energy of top athletes, Armani Code Sport by Giorgio Armani is a refreshing cologne designed for today's active man. This fragrance combines 3 types of mint with Mediterranean citrus for an exhilarating scent. Exotic pink pepper, spicy ginger and icy accords round out the notes and invigorate the senses.

Gentlemen Only by Givenchy ($58.19 at FragranceNet.com) - This is designed for today's modern father who is sophisticated and refined. It features a combination of spicy and fresh accords and pays homage to the original Givenchy Gentleman of 1974. It includes green mandarin, pink pepper, nutmeg, birch leaves, mixed with cedar and patchouli.

I was sent Polo Ralph Lauren Blue Sport and Armani Code Sport for review. My husband has been wearing Happy by Clinique for years it is one of his favorites.  He will be receiving that come Father's Day but in the meantime he has been trying out a newer scent. My husband is picky when it comes to colognes but he is loving Armani Code. I think it smells great (isn't that what really matters here), it is clean and citrus-y which and does not have the woods-y or musky scent that I don't like.

My husband and I both smelled the Polo Blue Sport and decided my step-dad would love it. He has been wearing Polo for years but this particular scent will be a new one for him. It is fresh and not over powering I think he will enjoy it alongside his usual colognes.

Be sure and check out FrangranceNet for more cologne choices. They also carry perfume, skincare, makeup, and haircare and offer FREE Shipping on all orders over $59.
